How Bike Riding changed my life: The student edition. 15 Jan 2020 – Posted in: Blogs
Riding a bike is not just an action, but a way of life! The miles you cover with your bike also shape the milestones you achieve. These are little things that can also impact your perspective and attitude towards the world. New travels lead to new lessons.
Being passionate bikers, the crew at Tripnme know the thrill and the importance of finding one’s tribe. We want this to be a space where you can share your adventures and your passion. So, we talked to a few enthusiastic and passionate bikers to find out how bike riding shaped them! This blog post will focus on a rider who also does another extreme sport: exams!
Our first biker is 20 years old full-time student. He is an avid traveller with an interest in appliance design and product reviews. This is his story:
How long have you been a rider?
I have been riding for about 3 years now. I have my own bike. It was a gift from my parents. It was actually hard to select the perfect bike. There are a lot of good ones due to a lot of competitors in its segment. Making the right choice became really important to me. Finding the perfect bike meant a great experience. “
Rides, how often?
I took my bike on a real ride after owning it for 6 months. I ride practically every day. My Bike is my choice of commute. I mostly prefer day ride destinations that are maximum 200kms. If you are asking about how often I go on a proper group ride, then it is about once a month. If I am lucky, I can go thrice a month during vacations.
Post Riding Transformation
The drastic change after I started riding was that I became more social than ever! My energy and willpower increased with every ride I planned. It also boosted me to begin to explore more than ever. With every destination, new or familiar brought brand-new experiences.
On bikers and bonding
I am in contact with many bikers. I have participated in almost a dozen group rides. This gave me an opportunity to meet new people. Exchanging experiences and travel stories gave me a different perspective over my own riding style as well as life. These fresh and varied suggestions helped me to develop a better riding style. I also developed a great deal of respect for other riders.
On his most recent ride.
The last place I rode was Goa. It was full of memorable moments. I experienced nearly every type of road there is, every type of driver behind the wheel and saw many accident spots. I enjoyed the transitions of landscapes and emotions immensely.
Advice to non-riders
Biking has its highs and lows. I would definitely suggest a non-biker to have at least a few experiences riding.
What does biking mean to you?
Biking for me is full of mixed emotions. It calms me when I’m emotionally high or excites me when the monotonous week bores me. It brings the best of feelings within me.
Where does the road lead to next?
I do am planning a getaway soon. A day ride, maybe a long-distance group ride. Whatever comes my way is always welcome!
Juggling the pressures of exams, tests and lectures is a balancing act. Riding helps our young friend maintain the balance.
